EA FC 24 Ultimate Team pack animations: Walkout & boards clues explained

EA FC 24 players will open hundreds of packs over the course of an Ultimate Team season, and subtle clues in the animations give away the quality of the card inside. Here’s how to tell if you’ve packed a boards or walkout player in EA FC 24 Ultimate Team.

Few things are as satisfying in EA FC 24 Ultimate Team as opening a pack and seeing a walkout in your team’s kit at the end of the opening animation. Every year, EA Sports update the pack animations and EA FC 24 is no exception.

In addition to introducing the double walkout feature, EA Sports have released new pack animations with hidden clues that tell you whether you’ve got walkouts, boards, or simply low-rated cards before it opens in EA FC 24 Ultimate Team.

EA FC 24 Ultimate Team: How to tell if it’s a walkout or boards

Unlike previous editions of the FIFA franchise, in EA FC 24 there is no tunnel that can give you a hint about which player you’ll get. Instead, EA Sports introduced beams of lights that can potentially provide you with an indication of the player’s rating within the pack.

After seeing a lot of pack openings in EA FC 24 Ultimate Team, Twitch streamer Nofil Khan noticed differences in the set of lights a moment before revealing the player’s attributes inside the pack.

When the Ultimate Team logo appears, you should pay close attention to the right side of the screen. If the strip is barely visible, you’re likely looking at a player with an OVR between 75 and 82. If you can make out the beams of light, a boards player between 83 and 85 is hidden inside the pack.

If the beams of light are more prominent and light up your screen, you can expect at least one player rated at 86+ OVR to walk out. Finally, if there is no light or strip when you open the pack, unfortunately, you’ve received a low-rated player.

These animations will likely change when you pack special players throughout the year, such as TOTW, Icons, Heroes, and more. That’s why we always recommend keeping an eye on the right side of the screen.
