All Water-type Pokemon weaknesses

Water-type Pokemon are weak against Electric and Grass-type moves. So, if you’re battling a Water-type Pokemon, make sure that your Pokemon not only belongs to the Electric or Grass type but also knows the moves that belong to these types.

Having said that, Electric and Grass moves might not be too effective in situations where your Water-type opponent has a secondary type. For instance, Swampert, one of the best PvP Pokemon in Pokemon Go, is immune to Electric damage because of its secondary Ground typing.

All Water-type Pokemon resistances

Water-type Pokemon can resist damage from Fire, Steel, Water, and Ice-type moves. This means that using Fire, Steel, Water, and Ice-type Pokemon during combat against Water-type rivals can put you at a great disadvantage.

All Water-type Pokemon strengths

Water-type Pokemon are strong against Ground, Rock, and Fire types. So, refrain from using Ground, Rock, and Fire-type Pokemon against Water types. Unless the secondary types make a difference, the battle will most likely be one-sided.

Best counters for Water-type Pokemon

Since Water-type Pokemon are weak against Electric and Grass-types, Venusaur, Electivire, Raikou, Manectric, and Zapdos are some of the best to counter them.

While Electric Pokemon are more aggressive attackers, Grass-type Pokemon are defensive tanks. Accordingly, use Electric Pokemon to take down Water types in PvE battles and Grass types in PvP battles.
