How to set your Buddy in Pokemon Go
If you’ve never set your Buddy in Pokemon Go, these are the steps you need to follow:
- Open the Pokemon Go app.
- Tap your avatar face.
- On the ‘Me’ tab, press the ‘Buddy’ icon (the one with two smiling faces).
- Choose a Pokemon to set as Buddy.
How to change your Buddy in Pokemon Go
If you already have a Buddy in Pokemon Go, its face will show right next to your avatar on the main screen of the game, so you must follow these simple steps to change it:
- Open the Pokemon Go app.
- Tap your Buddy on the bottom left corner of the main view screen.
- Scroll all the way down and tap ‘Swap buddies’.
- Choose a different Pokemon to join you.
In this case, you can also swap Buddies by finding a Pokemon in your Storage and tapping the ‘Swap Buddies’ button at the bottom of its summary page. You can swap buddies a maximum of 20 times a day.
How to play with your Buddy in Pokemon Go
To play with your Buddy in Pokemon Go, you’ll need to follow these steps:
- Tap your Buddy on the bottom left corner of the main view screen.
- Tap the ‘Play!‘ button or your Buddy Pokemon.
- Rub your Pokemon until a beam of light and a heart appear on screen.
