Similarly, you cannot get more than 50 PokeCoins through Gyms in a single day. This means that if you put three Pokemon in separate Gyms and they’re defeated on the same day, you won’t get more than 50 PokeCoins.
Players can’t defeat Pokemon in a Gym while a Raid is active.Here are some useful tips for trainers looking to defend Gyms to get PokeCoins:
- Put tanky defenders in Gyms, such as Snorlax, Blissey, Dragonite, Chansey, Slaking, or Metagross.
- Feed your Pokemon berries so it’s harder for opponents to take them out.
- Once your Pokemon has defended a Gym for more than eight hours and 20 minutes, stop feeding them berries. You’ll need to wait until it’s defeated to claim your PokeCoins.
