The Paradox Pokemon of Scarlet and Violet are some of the strongest additions to the franchise, with OP sweepers like Roaring Moon, Great Tusk, Iron Valiant, and Iron Treads in the mix.

If you want to dominate the most intense Pokemon battles with the Ground/Steel-type Iron Treads, here are its weaknesses, resistances, strengths, and recommended moveset.

Iron Treads weaknesses explained in Pokemon

Iron Treads’ weaknesses in Pokemon include Fighting, Fire, Ground, and Water-type attacks.

Since these weaknesses are common threats, I mostly Terastallize Iron Treads to the Ghost or Water Tera Type to negate them. The Ghost Tera Type is unpredictable and makes it immune to boosted Extreme Speed from Tera Normal Arceus and Dragonite.

That’s not all, as this trick forces even the toughest of opponents to rethink their strategies, giving you an upper hand in battles. Iron Treads has a high Defense stat of 120 and HP stat of 90, thanks to which I’ve used it to tank even super-effective hits like Earthquake, Close Combat, Fire Punch, and Flip Turn.

Iron Treads resistances explained in Pokemon

Iron Treads’ resistances in Pokemon include Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Flying, Normal, Psychic, Rock, and Steel types and it is immune to Electric and Poison types.

With this impressive list and bulk, it can brush off attacks from the likes of Salamence, Scizor, Metagross, Miraidon, Raging Bolt, and Iron Boulder. Also, it can’t be poisoned or paralyzed by Thunder Wave, so I’ve used Iron Treads as a safe switch-in during hundreds of battles.

Iron Treads strengths explained in Pokemon

Iron Treads super-effective damage to Electric, Fairy, Fire, Ice, Poison, Rock, and Steel-type Pokemon with its STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) Ground and Steel-type moves.

Complemented by 112 Attack stat and 106 Speed, Iron Treads can turn into a wrecking ball through its ability Quark Drive, which boosts its Speed by 50% or any other stat by 30% in the presence of Electric Terrain or the Held Item Booster Energy.

While both are viable, I’d recommend boosting its Attack through Booster Energy since Speed can be increased with the move Rapid Spin.

Best Iron Treads moves in Pokemon

The best Iron Treads moves in Pokemon are Rapid Spin, Stealth Rock, Earthquake, and Ice Spinner.

  • Rapid Spin is an incredible move that removes Hazards from your side of the battlefield and also increases Iron Treads’ Speed by 50% each time it’s used.
  • Remove Hazards with Rapid Spin and then set Rocks in the opponent’s side with Stealth Rock. This not only throws Focus Sash strategies out of the window, but particularly troubles Bug, Fire, Flying, and Ice types, while also damaging neutral targets.
  • Earthquake is its strongest move, with 100 base power and perfect accuracy.
  • For targets who are immune to Earthquake as well as the ever-present Dragon types, Ice Spinner is the way to go. Remember that this move also ends the effects of any Terrain.
