With that said, here’s how you can gain more XP and level up your character quickly in Diablo 4 Season 4.

Best ways to level up fast in Diablo 4

There are a few ways in which you can level up quickly in Diablo 4, while everything is a viable method, some of them are quicker than the rest.

So, here are all the methods to level up quickly in Diablo 4 Season 4.

Helltides

In Diablo 4 Season 4, Helltides are the primary seasonal activity that you need to participate in. This activity has received a major rework and is a nice place to start your level up journey.

Culling monsters in Helltides can give you a lot of XP.

Most importantly, Helltides are now available at World Tier 1 and World Tier 2 as well, and has some pretty high mob density. So, all you need to do is get in there and start killing monsters.

Although the XP isn’t boosted, farming Helltides is the best way to level up quickly in Diablo 4 right now.

High World Tier

This is a high-risk-high-reward mechanic in Diablo 4 called World Tier. There are four tiers in Diablo 4 called Adventurer, Veteran, Nightmare, and Torment. Adventurer is the easiest, while Torment is the hardest.

Higher World Tiers are challenging, but the loot you get from them is worthwhile. You will get the highest amount of XP in World Tier IV: Torment. Not only that, but the amount of Gold you earn for slaying monsters is also high.

Renown system

The Renown system in Diablo 4 is brilliant for getting Bonus XP. To get it, though, you’ll have to explore the open world and complete challenges that give Renown and access to Renown tiers.

The five regions in Diablo 4 have their own Renown challenges, meaning that you can get Bonus XP 25 times. To get all Renown rewards, make sure to check out this guide on the Renown system in Diablo 4.

Multiplayer

Diablo 4 supports crossplay and couch co-op, which makes the multiplayer experience a delight. In the Diablo 4 open beta, players in a party received Bonus XP, and there are similar advantages in the full release as well.

Staying near other players in Diablo 4 grants a 5% bonus XP while staying near a party member hands out a 10% bonus XP. Both these buffs have no impact on the difficulty, which makes them worthwhile.

Season boosts

Diablo 4 will have Seasonal play, and every three months, players will get a new Battle Pass and Season Journey challenges. Season boosts are one of the many amazing rewards you’ll get from the Battle Pass.

Because they directly affect gameplay, Season boosts are free, and even Battle Pass buyers cannot get them without completing the desired challenges.

XP-boosting items

As you explore the different cities and towns in the Sanctuary, you will come across an Alchemist. Not only does this vendor upgrade your healing potion for you, but you can also craft elixirs here.

You can use Smoldering Ashes to increase your XP gains.

These elixirs grant you a 5% bonus XP for the duration they’re active. You can also craft incense here. This item also grants you bonus XP. While you can’t use two elixirs at the same time, you can always use an elixir and incense together.

Side quests & Dungeons

Completing the main story in Diablo 4 naturally grants XP but the game also has a ton of side quests and over 120 dungeons. These side missions and dungeons are great sources of additional XP that will help you level up multiple characters in a single season.

Apart from the regular dungeons, you will also be able to participate in Nightmare Dungeons, but these can be accessed once you reach World Tier 3. You’ll receive different sigils that will allow you to convert regular dungeons into Nightmare Dungeons. These usually have several modifiers for added difficulty, but they also offer a good amount of XP if you’re able to successfully complete them.

Grim Favors

In every region, you will come across as small side quests known as Grim Favors. These side quests are fairly easy and involve killing a specific enemy or completing a small activity. Once you collect 10 Grim Favors, you can make your way to the Tree of Whispers and collect your reward.

While this is a nice way to farm for items, it’s a very good way to get your hands on a lot of XP in Diablo 4. Given that there isn’t any cooldown associated with this process, you can rinse and repeat as many times as you want.

Strongholds

In Diablo 4, you will come across 15 different Strongholds that are spread across Sanctuary. These areas have high enemy density and can be a good place for you to farm XP, especially in the Seasonal Realm in Season of the Construct.

It’s worth noting that these Strongholds also have a level requirement. While you can attempt them even if you’re under the recommended level, you might have a hard time clearing them. While the Stronghold difficulty will always be one level higher than your character level, you will earn the most XP if you’re two to three levels below the recommended level.

The required level also varies depending on your current character level. So assuming that you’ve reached level 20 in the game, here are all the Strongholds along with their required levels:

  • Level 20-25
    • The Onyx Watchtower (Level 20)
    • Omath’s Redoubt (Level 20)
    • Tur Dulra (Level 21)
    • Altar of Ruin (Level 21)
    • Alcarnus (Level 21)
    • Nostrava (Level 21)
    • The Ruins of Qara-Yisu (Level 25)
  • Level 26-30
    • Temple of Rot (Level 30)
    • Kor Dragan (Level 30)
  • Level 31-35
    • Crusader’s Monument (Level 35)
    • Eriman’s Pyre (Level 35)
    • Hope’s Light (Level 35)
  • Level 36-40
    • Vyeresz (Level 40)
    • Moordaine Lodge (Level 40)
  • Level 41-50
    • Malnok (Level 45)

Furthermore, you cannot farm these Strongholds, because you can complete them only once on a character. So make sure you complete them as soon as you hit the level requirements, for a speedy run to level 50.
