When is Fortnite coming back to iOS?
Epic GamesFortnite is all set to return to iOS devices soon, but with a catch. Here’s everything we know about when Fortnite will be playable on iOS again.
Apple removed Fortnite from the iOS store in 2020, which led to a huge legal dispute and caused a lot of players to lose access to their favorite Battle Royale.
While you can still play the game on Apple devices via cloud gaming services like GeForce NOW, will the game be natively available on iOS devices? Here’s what we know.
When is Fortnite returning to iOS?
There is no fixed date for Fortnite to return on iOS devices for now. According to dataminers on X, the game is currently being playtested for iPhones, so the Fortnite iOS release date could be closer than what was previously expected.
Earlier, in a post on X Epic Games confirmed that the game will return to iOS devices – iPhones and iPads – in Europe only “pretty soon” following a law passed by the European Union. While the law allows Epic Games to launch Fortnite on iOS devices in Europe, they’ll have to maintain a separate store for Apple devices too.
With the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max capable of running AAA titles, Fortnite should run smoothly on the device. That aside, it’s unlikely that the game will be too demanding in terms of performance while running on other iOS devices.
