Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale title like Fortnite and Warzone 2, and none of the paid elements can help in improving your skills. However, this has never stopped players from spending on their favorite cosmetics that make their characters stand out in lobbies.

Just like Fortnite has its fair share of the rarest skins, Apex Legends has Heirlooms. These rare cosmetics signify that the owner has spent heavily in the game and compensates for the price by giving your Legends some of the coolest animations, sounds, and styles.

What is an Apex Legend Heirloom?

An Heirloom is a Legend-specific melee item that Apex Legends players can purchase with Heirloom Shards, which are obtained in Apex Packs.

The reason Heirlooms are so rare is that there is a 1 in 500 chance of receiving Heirloom Shards in an Apex Pack, and only on your 500th pack are you guaranteed the shards.

Further, Heirlooms usually come out during a Collection Event, where players need to collect every item in the event to receive the new Heirloom. However, these can be very pricey.

What do Heirlooms do in Apex Legends?

Heirlooms are strictly cosmetic items that are specific to Legends that currently have them available. They give you new melee animations and sounds, as well as something cool to hold while your weapons are holstered.

These items also have detailed animations when your weapon is holstered, as well as satisfying animations for moving between running, walking, sliding, and crouching.

There are currently 19 Legends who have Heirlooms in Apex Legends, and each of these items is suited to the character’s personality and lore.

3. Bloodhound – Raven’s Bite
4. Lifeline – Shock Sticks
5. Pathfinder – Boxing Gloves

7. Mirage – Too Much Witt
8. Caustic – Death Hammer
9. Gibraltar – War Club
10. Revenant – Dead Man’s Curve / Death Grip
11. Bangalore – Cold Steel
12. Wattson – Energy Reader
13. Crypto – Biwon Blade
14. Valkyrie – Suzaku
15. Loba – Garra de Alanza
16. Wraith – Hope’s Dawn

Currently, only Wraith and Revenant have Heirloom recolors, hence having two Heirlooms to their names. We expect more to come in the future.
