Heroes fighting in Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 Season 10 has introduced a new theme, Mirrorwatch, where good Heroes have been turned into bad ones and vice versa. But, what are all the organizations in Overwatch and who are they? Here is everything you need to know.

While Overwatch 2 is an FPS shooter, there is a lot of lore behind the Heroes we love and where they come from. Specifically, there are a few organizations that we know of that build the world of Overwatch into the rich storylines it has.

Talon, Overwatch itself, and Vishkar are all some of these organizations. So, here is everything you need to know about each one.

Who are Talon in Overwatch 2? All members

Talon is one of the main antagonist organizations in Overwatch 2, and they are known to be terrorists. Doomfist, Reaper, and Moira are in-game characters part of the leaders of Talon alongside Sanjay Korpal and Maximilien.

Sombra, Sigma, Mauga, Widowmaker, Baptiste, and Zenyatta are all agents of Talon, but it’s believed that Zenyatta has been forced and did not join of his own volition.

Talon seeks to sow chaos in the name of making humans stronger.

Led by Doomfist, Talon is made up of a variety of individuals whose goal is to make humanity stronger through conflict. They’re a bit of a problematic organization in the Overwatch universe, particularly because they actively sow turmoil to achieve their manifesto.

In Talon’s early history, they were viewed by the public as an organization that took on security missions that had been sanctioned by corporate officials. This meant that they were able to take in a number of people who were likely unaware of their true nature.

Baptiste was actually one of these people. Inspired by the good life the jobs he did for Talon gave him initially, he was left devastated when he learned of their true nature. Now, though, he is unable to leave them as it is widely known that no one leaves Talon unless it’s in a coffin.

Overwatch

The Overwatch organization, which inspired the name Overwatch 2 for the game itself, was an international task force formed during the Omnic CrisisSoldier: 76, Reaper, Reinhardt, Ana, Cassidy, Torbjorn, Winston, Tracer, Genji, and Moira were all original members of Overwatch.

Other members of Overwatch include Echo, Brigitte, Mercy, Bastion, Pharah, D.Va, Lucio, Cassidy, Sojourn, and Zarya. Moira and Reaper defected to Talon, and Genji was originally part of the Blackwatch operations at Overwatch.

The Omnic war was one of the most violent and turbulent times in the Overwatch universe, and in response, the Overwatch organization was created as an elite strike unit made from the best soldiers and technology the UN had to offer.

After the war, Overwatch continued their work in peacekeeping and reconstruction efforts internationally. It had a few good decades where they established their various watchpoints (like in Gibraltar and Antarctica), got a headquarters in Sweden, and recruited multiple agents to their cause.

In their Twilight years, however, Overwatch’s strength and influence grew weaker as they came under suspicion of corruption. Allegations like human rights abuses, mismanagement, and negligence which resulted in mission failures came to light, and Overwatch started to struggle to keep their in-good-faith reputation.

Blackwatch

Blackwatch was revealed in Overwatch’s last years as a top-secret division that carried out the nastier missions the organization did not want to be associated with.

Stories of assassination, coercion, kidnapping, torture, and worse forced the UN to launch a full investigation into Overwatch. With this, public distrust in Overwatch became overwhelming and their headquarters in Switzerland was destroyed. In it, both Reaper and Soldier: 76 were marked as dead.

Anonymous reports indicated that the torn relationship between Reaper and Soldier was the reason for Overwatch’s downfall. In fact, their fighting was to blame, according to these sources, for the explosion at HQ that killed them both. But, as we know now, this wasn’t actually the case, and they are both still alive today.

What is the Vishkar Corporation in Overwatch 2?

The Vishkar Corporation in Overwatch 2 is a multinational corporate entity based in southern India. Lifeweaver and Symmetra are both part of the Vishkar Corporation, although Lifeweaver is more outspoken about how the scientific community is against the way they handle things.

Specifically, Vishkar are in charge of the Architect Academy where their students are trained in light-bending.

In theory, Vishkar is not an evil corporation as they focus largely on servicing the public through providing housing, clean water, and clinics. However, they have been known to achieve their goals at any cost.

More specifically, they have not shied away from the destruction of communities to place their more lifestyle-centric properties: luxury retreats, and exclusive clubs included. It also doesn’t help that Sanjay Korpal, one of their higher-ranking members, was in a secret collusion with Talon.

Lifeweaver was largely shunned by his schoolmates while he was studying under Vishkar for speaking out against their methods. He created his own technology called Biolight and fled the company when they demanded that it was under their ownership.

Other Overwatch 2 organizations

Other Overwatch 2 organizations had some significant influence on the world, including Null Sector, the Shimada Clan, and the Deadlock Gang

Null Sector

The Null Sector was a militant Omnic group regarded as one of the world’s most notorious terrorist organizations.

Null Sector is entirely composed of robotic drones, and their goal is to achieve Omnic rights through violent methods. They are led by Ramattra, who was one of their original founders.

Shimada Clan

The Shimada Clan is one of the oldest organizations in the Overwatch universe. They were formed during the Sengoku period, and their power grew significantly over the years to the point where they built a criminal empire focused on arms, illegal substances, and assassination.

Hanzo was the leader of the Shimada Clan for a while, but after he was ordered to assassinate his brother Genji, he decided to reject the clan and form his own legacy.

Deadlock Gang

The Deadlock Gang are a notorious crime group that largely operates in the Southwest of the USA.

It was founded by Ashe, B.O.B, and Cassidy (who went by Jesse McCree at the time), and they would travel across the country to pull off massive heists.

The Junkers

The Junkers were more of a society that existed in the Australian Outback. Currently ruled by Junker Queen, their stance against the Omnics was solidified when she took her position by taking part in the Reckoning.

Roadhog and Junkrat were both former members of the Junkers, banished by Junker Queen, and Wrecking Ball acts as Junker Queen’s right-hand-hamster and bodyguard.

Shambali

The Shambali are a secret Omnic organization that focuses on spreading peace and empathy. Ramattra and Zenyatta are former members, while Genji was a temporary member under the tutelage of Zenyatta after the Overwatch HQ was destroyed.

MEKA Squad

The MEKA Squad is a group of five mech pilots. Their main goal is to protect the people of South Korea, and more specifically Busan, from Omnic attacks at sea. D.Va is one of their pilots.

Los Muertos

Los Muertos, meaning “The Dead,” is a criminal gang that operates in Mexico. Members of the gang present themselves as people who represent those who were left in the wake of devastation after the Omnic Crisis.

Sombra is currently the only known member, but she has since left them to join Talon.

The Crusaders

The Crusaders were a German paramilitary group that was primarily active during the Omnic Crisis.

Led by Balderich von Adler, their goal was to protect Stuttgart from an army of Bastions, and while most of them are now deceased, their efforts let the German army make a meaningful move against the Omnics. Reinhardt is the only other known member, who later became a founder of Overwatch.

Helix Security International

Helix Security International is a private security firm funded by the United Nations to act as a global security force. Currently, they serve as a replacement for Overwatch after its downfall.

Pharah is the Captain of the group, and their focus currently lies on protecting Egypt from Talon attacks.

Yokai

The Yokai is a small group of teenagers who are dedicated to fighting against the criminal Hashimoto Clan and protecting the people of Kanezaka. One of their main members is Kiriko.

Inti Warriors

The Inti Warriors are a group of soldiers utilized by the Paqarina Research Group to protect Runasapi through the use of their solar power mastery. In order to store and control the sun’s power, each Inti Warrior was permeated with solar threading. Illari is currently the only known member.

Hashimoto

After the dismantling of the Shimada Clan, the Hashimoto stepped in to take over. They assassinated Genji and Hanzo’s father, who was in charge of the Shimada Clan, and proceeded to seize control over Hanamura and Kanezaka, making themselves the overarching crime family in these cities.
