Name card tier | Hero level required |

Can you buy name cards in Overwatch 2?
Yes, name cards in Overwatch 2 can be purchased through skin bundles in the Item Shop or through the Premium Battle Pass. However, name cards tied to challenges are not for sale, and completing the desired challenge is the only way to unlock them.
How does the player level work in Overwatch 2?
Overwatch 2 players are recognized by their skill in using each Hero’s abilities, for which the leveling system awards progression through multiple categories. Each Hero has their unique categories, such as damage dealt or healing done, according to their role.
Blizzard fans may remember that instead of the Battle Pass, Overwatch 1 had a leveling system that tracked progression. Players earned XP whenever they finished a match, and if they hit a new level, they’d get a loot box. This mechanic also came with portrait borders that showed off every player’s level, even if they weren’t playing ranked matches.
Overwatch 2 dropped this strategy and left behind the Loot Box controversy, but this player progression system lets you earn badges and show off your achievements in-game.
How to level up in Overwatch 2
You can level up each Hero in Overwatch 2 depending on the mastery of their skills. In order to win XP points, users should be mindful of the Hero’s roles, abilities, and strengths.
This new player progression system tracks players’ progress and achievements with specific Heroes, roles, and game modes. This allows them to earn badges that will appear along with their Hero portrait and Battletag throughout the game.
Overwatch 2 players that level up can earn special badges and sub badges for their favorite Heroes, as well as name cards. Progress with each Hero is also visible on the player’s profile.
