Here’s whether XDefiant has the famous Call of Duty mode Search and Destroy now that it’s out globally on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Ubisoft San Francisco’s XDefiant is a free-to-play first-person shooter game that is expected to go head-to-head with Call of Duty. Thanks to a couple of closed beta tests as well as open sessions, the community already knows a fair bit about the gameplay, requirements, available modes, skins, and other content.

On that note, here’s everything to know about the Search and Destroy mode in XDefiant.

Can you play Search and Destroy in XDefiant?

No, XDefiant doesn’t have a Search and Destroy mode as of its May 21, 2024 launch. Instead, you’ll be able to choose from Domination, Hot Shot, Occupy, Escort, and Zone Control.

The game will also feature five factions. Unlike Gray Zone Warfare, all factions have unique abilities related to healing, hacking, and damage dealing, among other things.

When is Search and Destroy coming to XDefiant?

Yes, Search and Destroy will be added to XDefiant in upcoming seasons, and this has been confirmed by the game’s Executive Producer Mark Rubin on X.

In June 2023, Rubin acknowledged the high demand for Search and Destroy during the beta. It isn’t a top priority for the developers at the moment but they’re already working on the mode and you might get to play it in Season 1 or 2.

We don’t have a definite release date for Search and Destroy in XDefiant yet. On top of that, the single-life mode might be called something else upon official release. We’ll update this space with the latest information so make sure to bookmark the article and check back often.
