Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will take around eight hours to complete if you focus on the main story. This was confirmed in an Xbox Wire post from developer Ninja Theory, where they mentioned the sequel is “similar in length to the first Hellblade.”

The original game’s story lasted for around seven and a half hours, while those looking to find every single Lorestone and other optional content could get closer to nine hours out of it.

However, the series is known for being fairly linear, without too many side objectives to tick off, so the mileage you get out of Hellblade 2 will depend on how quickly you solve the many puzzles and how quickly you pick up the brutal combat.

This is much shorter than the length players have come to expect from AAA games, but the devs have reassured fans that this is by design, and is reflected by the slightly cheaper $49.99 / £49.99 price tag.

“We also took advantage of the freedom that digital-only distribution offered us to create a game of the length that fit perfectly with our intended experience but could be sold at a lower price to reflect the shorter length of our story,” they explained.
