What is F1 24 Challenge Career? Dev explains new mode

In addition to a revamped Career Mode, F1 24 also brings a new condensed version of the mode called Challenge Career. During an interview with CharlieIntel, F1 24’s Senior Creative Director, Lee Mather, shared exclusive Challenge Career mode details, so here’s all you need to know about it.

The May 31 launch of F1 24 is fast approaching, and players will soon be able to jump into the shoes of F1 icons, upcoming talent from F2, current F1 drivers, or create their own legacy thanks to F1 24’s revamped Career Mode.

F1 24 brings Career Mode fans a new version of the fan-favorite mode called Challenge Career, including a multiplayer competitive feature, so here’s all you need to know about it.

F1 24 Challenge Career mode explained

F1 24‘s Challenge Career is a brand-new compact version of Career Mode that allows players to enjoy “bite-sized scenarios” in the shoes of an existing F1 driver and team. The ultimate goal is to get as many Campaign Points as possible, earn a spot on the global leaderboard, and rack up exclusive rewards.

The mode will feature the same conditions for every player, but there are various difficulty levels to choose from depending on how you want your experience to be. It will be divided into Episodes and themed seasons including specific story choices that the F1 24 dev team will explain.

Given its structure and connection with Career Mode, Challenge Career’s shorter nature will include all the base mode’s intros, cutscenes, and features.

F1 24 Challenge Career season: Length & content

Challenge Career in F1 24 will be divided into multi-week seasons featuring content picked by community voting and occasionally F1 drivers themselves, affecting teams, drivers, circuits, and R&D levels.

Codemasters Senior Creative Director Lee Mather confirmed in an interview with CharlieIntel that the first-ever F1 24 Challenge Career will run for the first three days after the game’s launch starting on May 21, featuring three-time champion Max Verstappen.

Additionally, the Codemasters team will decide the featured driver, team, and circuits for the following season of Challenge Career.
