Is Verdansk coming back to Warzone?

Call of Duty: Warzone players are desperate to see the classic Verdansk map return, but is there any word on it coming back? Here’s everything we know so far.

Every year, Warzone’s developers introduce a brand-new map to launch with the latest CoD game, but it’s the very first map, Verdansk, that players are desperate to see again.

Rumors have been swirling about Verdansk’s potential return ever since it was removed, and players became even more convinced when Modern Warfare 3’s campaign took them to classic locations like the Stadium, Military Base, and Dam. But is Verdansk actually coming back?

Here’s everything we know about Verdansk’s return to Call of Duty: Warzone.

Will Verdansk return to Warzone?

While there’s no official news regarding Verdansk’s return to Warzone, a report by insider Tom Henderson claims that Verdansk will arrive with the next Black Ops game in 2024, and CharlieIntel has heard similar information.

Which version of Verdansk it would be isn’t clear either – they could bring back the original Verdansk with the fully built stadium, Verdansk 84 with classic maps like Summit, or another version with new POIs and map changes.

When will Verdansk come back to Warzone?

If the rumors turn out to be true, we expect Verdansk to return to Warzone somewhere around December 4 or 11, to coincide with the CoD 2024 Season 1 update.

If Call of Duty follows its established pattern, Call of Duty 2024 will arrive in late October/early November, and then Verdansk could return with the Season 1 update in December. MW3 Season 1, which brought Urzikstan to Warzone, arrived on December 6, 2023, so either the first or second Wednesday of December 2024 is the most likely release date.

If you can’t wait for Verdansk to arrive on console and PC, you can hop into the classic map in Warzone Mobile right now. The new mobile title launched with the OG version of Verdansk, just as it was back in March 2020.

We’ll be sure to update this page with more details on Verdansk’s return once an official announcement is made. For more on Warzone in the meantime, check out our other guides:
