Overwatch 2 Venture release date

Venture will arrive in Overwatch 2 on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, as part of the Season 10 update. The character will be free for all players as soon as the update goes live.

Here are all of Venture’s abilities in Overwatch 2:

Weapons

• Smart Excavator: Launch a seismic charge that bursts after a short distance.

Abilities

• Burrow: Move underground and become invulnerable. Emerge to deal damage.
• Drill Dash: Dash forward, pushing enemies back.
• Tectonic shock (Ultimate): Send out damaging shockwaves.

Passives

• Explorer’s Resolve: Using abilities grants temporary shields.
• Clobber: Quick melee deals more damage.

Who is Venture in Overwatch 2?

Venture in Overwatch 2 is a “swashbuckling archeologist” from Canada. It was also confirmed that Venture is non-binary, making them the first OW2 Hero to use they/them pronouns.

Is Venture available in OW2 Competitive?

Once Venture arrives, they will be available to use in Overwatch 2 Competitive. This means that as soon as the Season 10 update goes live on April 16, you will be able to dive right into ranked with the new DPS Hero.

This is different from other Hero releases, as usually the devs like to see how the new Hero performs in Quick Play before unleashing them in Competitive. But, in the Season 10 blog, the devs mentioned that they are confident the Hero is ready for ranked thanks to the trial for Venture in Season 9.
