Here are all the banners that’ll be featured in Wuthering Waves when it launches and their gacha economy, from 50-50 to the pity system and more.

Being a gacha game, Wuthering Waves will feature multiple banners where characters and weapons will be pooled together. Most of it is similar to other titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, but it has a relatively generous system and a lower pity count.

So, here’s everything you need to know about the gacha economy of Wuthering Waves.

Wuthering Waves gacha currencies explained

Pulling for a character or a weapon in Wuthering Waves, called Convene, requires either Tides or Astrites. Tides are essentially Fates from Genshin Impact and Astrites are Primogems. This means 160 Astrites are equal to 1 Tide, and a single Tide will let you pull once in a banner.

Exploring the game will mostly net you Astrites which can be later converted to Tides when you pull.

Likewise, Tides come in three different rarities: Lustrous Tides, Radiant Tides, and Forging Tides. Lustrous Tides is for the permanent banner and Novice banner, Radiant is for the limited character banner, and Forging Tides is for the limited weapon banner. In terms of what different banners there are, here are all the banners:

  • Novice banner (it is for new players and lasts for 50 pulls and guarantees a 5-star character at the end)
  • Character permanent banner
  • Weapon permanent banner
  • Character Event banner (limited banner)
  • Weapon Event banner (limited banner)

How does pity work in Wuthering Waves?

Pity in Wuthering Waves guarantees you that you’ll get the rate-up character after a certain number of pulls (or Convene). This is the same as any other gacha game.

Each banner in Wuthering Waves will have featured 4-star and 5-star characters/weapons. Pity ensures you that if you do not get these rate-ups after a certain number of Convene, your next one will guarantee it.

Jiyan in Wuthering Waves
Jiyan is expected to be the first limited banner character.

Character banner pity system

In both the permanent and limited banners for characters, you’re guaranteed a 4-star character in every 10 pulls and a 5-star character in every 80 Convene.

However, pity is counted independently in all banners, so if you’ve done 9 pulls in a permanent banner, it does not mean your next pull in a limited banner will guarantee a 4-star. The guarantee is on the permanent banner.

Weapon banner pity system

Like the character banner, both permanent and limited banners for weapons guarantee a 4-star weapon in every 10 pulls and a 5-star character in every 80 pulls.

Is there soft pity in Wuthering Waves?

Currently, we do not know if there is a soft pity in place for Wuthering Waves. However, if there is, it should be around 65–70, as these are general ballparks for gacha games.

How does 50-50 work in Wuthering Waves banners

Wuthering Waves has a 50-50 system in its character event banner. This means if you have done 80 Convene, you’ll either get a 5-star from the permanent banner or the featured unit. If you get a standard character, one of your next 80 pulls will guarantee you the featured character.

So, suppose in the first limited banner for Jiyan, your initial 80 pulls can either get you Jiyan or any other unit from the standard banner (Calcharo, Encore, Jianxin, Lingyang, or Verina). If you get a standard unit your next 80 will guarantee Jiyan.

There is no 50-50 in the Weapon Event banner, as 80 pulls will guarantee you the limited weapon.

How to count pity in Wuthering Waves

If you want to check how many pulls you’ve done in Wuthering Waves, just click on the history (clock) icon beside the Convene button on the banner page.
