How to get a Tsareena in Pokemon Go
NianticTsareena is extremely popular in Pokemon Go, so here’s how to get it, the best PvP and PvE moves to use, and if it’s worth investing in.
Tsareena was introduced in the Gen 7 Pokemon games and since then, it has become a fan favorite. Now, Pokemon Go players are eager to add this Grass type to their teams and use it in Raids and the Go Battle League.
Here’s how to get Tsareena in Pokemon Go, along with details on its recommended moveset and if it’s worth having in your team.
When & where to get a Tsareena
You can get Tsareena in Pokemon Go by catching a Bounsweet and evolving it. Bounsweet evolves into Steenee with 25 Candy, and Steenee evolves into Tsareena with 100 Candy.
With the announcement of the Bounsweet Community Day for May 19, 2024, you’ll be able to find boosted wild spawns of Bounsweet from 2 PM to 5 PM local time, and Steenee Raids from 5 PM to 10 PM local time. This is a great opportunity to add several Tsareena to your collection.
Outside the Community Day, Bounsweet is more likely to spawn during Sunny/Clear in-game weather. Keep in mind that Steenee and Tsareena are not available as wild spawns in the game. Also, remember to use a Pinap or Silver Pinap Berry each time you catch Bounsweet to evolve it quickly.
Tsareena movesets & when to use them
Here are all the moves that Tsareena can learn in Pokemon Go:
Fast Moves
- Razor Leaf (Grass)
- Magical Leaf (Grass)
- Charm (Fairy)
Charged Moves
- Grass Knot (Grass)
- Energy Ball (Grass)
- Stomp (Normal)
- Triple Axel (Ice)
- Draining Kiss (Fairy)
- High Jump Kick* (Fighting)
High Jump Kick can be taught to Tsareena by evolving any Steenee between 2 PM and 7 PM local time on May 19, 2024.
After the event, this exclusive Fighting-type move can be given to Tsareena only by using an Elite Charged TM. The complete stats for this new move haven’t been revealed yet but we will update this article once all the details are available.
The best Tsareena moveset for Pokemon Go PvP battles is Magical Leaf with Grass Knot and Triple Axel. Magical Leaf gives it balanced damage output and energy gains, giving it quick access to Grass Knot to threaten Ground, Rock, and Water types. Triple Axel is a good secondary Charged Move to deal with Dragon Pokemon and beat one of its glaring weaknesses, the Flying type.
Grass Knot is its best Charged Move for Raid battles as well, but Razor Leaf is preferred over Magical Leaf thanks to its superior DPS (Damage Per Second) and lower cooldown.
Is it worth trying to get Tsareena?
Yes, Tsareena is a decent addition to Pokemon Go. While it’s not a top-tier pick, its 222 Attack stat makes it good for Raids, as most non-Mega Grass types don’t have too high offensive stats in the first place. Even its moveset is impressive, but it’s held back by its underwhelming bulk, sporting only 195 Defense and 176 HP.
So, feel free to use it against Ground, Rock, and Water-type Raid Bosses, but for PvP, consider using better Pokemon such as Venusaur, Sceptile, Roserade, Victreebel, and Zarude.
