To access Season 4: Loot Reborn quests in Diablo 4 you have to create a Seasonal character. So here’s everything that you need to know about Seasonal characters in Diablo 4 Season 4.

Whenever a new Season begins in Diablo 4, you’ll have to create a new Seasonal character to get access to its questline. This will divide your game into the Eternal and Seasonal Realm, which can get confusing after each new Season begins.

Here’s what you need to know about Seasonal characters before you start Diablo 4 Season 4.

What are Seasonal characters in Diablo 4?

The new character that you create to access the Seasonal Realm in Diablo 4 is called a Seasonal character. You can decide the Realm you want to place your character in, from the character creation screen.

Seasonal Characters are only available for the season they’re created. Once a season is finished in Diablo 4, they get moved to the Eternal Realm with the rest of the Wanderers you’ve played. Remember that your new character won’t be related to the one you’ve played before, so you could experiment with new classes, builds, and abilities.

Diablo 4: Eternal Realm & Seasonal Realm explained

The Eternal Realm and Seasonal Realm are two different universes where Diablo 4 stores your beloved characters. When a new Diablo 4 season begins, characters from the previous season are transferred to the Eternal Realm.

The Eternal Realm stores every Wanderer created in the base game and will also welcome every Seasonal character once their season has ended.

Players who wish to play Season 4 in Diablo 4 need to make a new character in the Seasonal Realm. This Realm offers new storylines and season-specific mechanics plus the default gameplay experience.

Eternal and Seasonal characters simultaneously exist in the game.

What carries over to Seasonal characters in Diablo 4?

Here’s everything that will be carried over into a new Diablo 4 Season with an Eternal or previous Seasonal Realm character:

  • Renown rewards
  • Paragon Points
  • Skill Points
  • Potion Charges
  • Obol capacity upgrades

If you’ve already finished the Diablo 4 campaign once, then you can skip it whenever you create a new character in Season 4.

Some mechanics that were unlocked during the main Diablo 4 storyline will be carried over throughout Seasons, such as previously discovered Altars of Lilith, as well as discovered areas of the map and their corresponding Renown.

Since all priority and side quests unlocked are still completed when players log in with their Seasonal Character, mounts are also available immediately.

Every item added during seasons will also transfer back to the player’s permanent Stash once the season has finished.

How to transfer progress & items in Diablo 4 Season 4

To transfer your progress to your Seasonal character in Diablo 4 Season 4, all you need to do is log in with the Eternal character that you’ve progressed the most with, before creating a new character in the Seasonal Realm.

If you fail to do that, then you will have to explore the map once again to discover all the locations and find out all the Altars of Lilith.
